Statement of intent.

How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? (approx. 400 words)

To target my primary target audience of females aged between 16-25 I intend to create a fashion magazine that is linked with the environment Ensuring I follow the ecofriendly theme I will use a neutral colour palatte including colours such as light green and baby pinkTo contrast the dark images on the front cover, the masthead will appear in yellow, and a large bold font will be used to make this stand out. I will target a middle/upper-class audience by using sophisticated fonts and including content that this demographic would engage with.  Tickets to Bali will appear on one of the front covers to be won; this encourages audiences to buy the magazine. Bali is a stereotypically sophisticated, idyllic place to visit which the middle class would be interested in. Due to sustainability being a key feature across my media products, the coverlines will be heavily linked to this, they will be short and snappy, linking to articles that would be found in the magazine. They will offer tips to help people stay fashionable while limiting damage to the environment. Appearing on both front covers will be females appearing within a nature setting. The use of flowers will be incorporated in one of the covers; this is traditionally feminine and will help target my primary target audience.  It will help target a young adult audience by providing them with the latest fashion trends, helping them keep up to date. Despite creating my own magazine products, I will still ensure I follow and incorporate features of Conde Naste’s values such as inclusivity and avoid any negative representationDespite my primary target gender being females, I will also include a picture of a male on my contents page within my contents text it will link to an article about this male. This will help engage a wider demographic of males who are interested in fashion. Appearing on my website, there will be social media links that target the younger active audience. Highlighting it isn't just females who can enjoy fashion.  When looking at Clay Shirkys End of Audience theory audiences are no longer passive, social media is one-way audiences can engage and interact with the company. Additionally, images found on the website will be set within nature and carefully arranged in a mosaic pattern, varying in size.

How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production? (approx. 100 words)

It is essential for a media company to establish an identity across all their media products to create a coherent brand style. I will do this by following the same colour palatte across both websites and magazines. Yellow will appear in both print products and website. The same fonts will be used across media platforms to create a clear sophisticated style. Articles found on my website will also appear on my contents page and a couple of coverlines on the front covers. This helps link the two products together, making them appear as one.  Text encouraging people to look at the website will appear on the front covers of my magazines.  Information about the competitions will appear on my website, providing people with a way of entering.
